Lisa Roddy, Tiny Tots and Ballet
My name is Lisa Roddy and I am thrilled to be one of the instructors at the Cave Creek Dance Academy. My love of dance began at age eleven when I started taking jazz classes and performed on stage for the very first time. Since then I have experienced numerous teachers and styles of dance including ballet, jazz, African, Brazilian, tap, character and lyrical. I have fond memories of participating in several nationwide dance workshops and competitions. At age 18, I began teaching dance and realized that teaching was my true passion. I then earned my degree in child development and elementary education. During my career at Arizona State, I was a dancer in the ASU dance company where I was exposed to a very rich and diverse world of dance. After earning my teaching credentials, I taught kindergarten and first grade where I incorporated movement into my daily lessons. My students thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from this alternative form of instruction.Over the last few years I have devoted my time to my 2 young sons. I am excited to be back teaching as I continue to express my love for dance.
